Elias' Birthday Party!

This should actually be at the end. These are some of my nieces and nephews who came at the end of the night to finish off the food!
My homemade birthday card since they don't sell any birthday cards here in town.

I bought these balloons and they all wrote Elias birthday wishes on them. It was very sweet.
This is a sweater one of our students gave Elias.
Also in our English class but also Cheto's brother-in-law.
Elias' brother Mario.
The food!
One of our students reading the card in English I made for Elias.

Above is Elias' friend Omar who lives in Tulancingo. We pledged to pray for him until he became a Christian one Sunday and guess what?! The VERY NEXT Sunday he came to church and became a Christian. He had never even come before or anything. It was amazing. Anyway, he still tries to make it out here most Sundays and for church events.
We moved our furniture around...for those of you who have been to our house you can see the difference.

So these are from Elias' Birthday party obviously. Not really in order, sorry. I have a hard time getting things in order the way they upload pictures on here. It's all backwards if you ask me. Anyway, I made American Tacos which means ground beef with seasoning and flour tortillas plus all the toppings...lettuce, tomato, green onion, sour cream etc. His sister helped me out by making the rice. I also made nopales (cactus). And a Carrot Cake for dessert. It was all very yummy. Some of our English students came, friends, and family. We had a really good time.

Katie,
The B day celebration looked wonderful. And the food so yummy! I had nopales salad at the the beach with the Daniels and loved it. You guys look wonderful (can't tell you've got the morning sickness :) I hope Elias had a Happy B Day!
Love,
Marie
