So I was in a big hurry last time I posted and didn´t have a chance to write about any of the pictures...
The big German house is a house that some very rich German people built about 50 years ago. They built it at the top of the mountain next to our town so you can actually see the tower stone house from town. They also had an airplane runway that has now been divided up into different properties but is still visible. The old airplane hanger is still by the runway also but I didn´t get a picture. The entire road from the runway (next to town) all the way up the mountain to the house was at one time paved by them also. That´s pretty impresive for our area! Elias´dad was a kid back then but remembers them coming to town with huge bags full of money. No one knows what they did or why they chose this area for a ¨vacation¨ home. I´m interested to know more but haven´t been very successful in finding anything out. The original owners pretty much abandoned the place and one of the Mexican presidents owned it for awhile and then the governor of the state and now there are just some care takers that live there and take care of the property. Oh and the people also say that the Germans also liked exotic animals and had monkeys and tigers, pumas and other animals. There are a bunch of stables and animal cages still on the property.
For Fiona´s presentation we had a service at church. Then afterward we had a BBQ at our house with hamburgers, chickenburgers, hotdogs and macaroni salad. It all turned out great and we had a fun time. We had about 75 hamburgers, 50 chickenburgers and a TON of hotdogs and all we had for leftovers were about 5 hamburgers and 5 chicken burgers.
The ladybug outfit was from Aunt Annie and it looks SO cute on Fiona. Although the day she wore it someone asked if she was a boy or a girl!!!
